Cetinje, the historic royal capital, where a walking tour reveals old embassies, monasteries, and palaces that hold the soul of Montenegrin history.
- The Peak of Lovćen: Expect a physical but rewarding climb of 461 steps to reach the
Njegoš Mausoleum. Standing at over 1,600 meters, you will be treated to a 360-degree view that, on clear days, spans nearly the entire country.
- Traditional Flavors: A stop in the village of
Njegušiis a highlight for food lovers. You can expect to taste authentic mountain specialties, specifically the world-renowned smoked prosciutto and local cheeses, often paired with traditional honey brandy (rakija).
- River and Lake Vistas: Many itineraries include a visit to the
Pavlova Stranaviewpoint, overlooking the winding "horseshoe" bend of the Crnojević River, followed by a serene boat ride or lunch break in the peaceful lakeside village ofRijeka Crnojevića.
- Iconic Landmarks: The day typically concludes with a scenic drive back to the coast, featuring a photo stop above the exclusive islet of
Sveti Stefanas the sun begins to set.
